Kelly Paredes

Co-Host of Teaching Python

Kelly Schuster-Paredes is an educator, curriculum designer, technology leader, and Pythonista whose work has expanded from teaching computer science into AI strategy, professional learning, and responsible technology adoption. She holds a Master’s in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology from Nova Southeastern University and has taught in London, Lima, and the United States.

Kelly began integrating technology into the classroom in 2003, experimenting with FileMaker, HTML, robotics, and eventually Python. Years of teaching programming shaped how she now approaches AI: not simply as a new set of tools, but as another layer of computing that requires foundational knowledge, judgment, data literacy, security awareness, and an understanding of how systems work.

Her current work focuses on AI strategy and literacy, curriculum and professional learning, educational technology, and helping schools move from experimentation with AI toward thoughtful and responsible implementation. She continues to describe herself as a “teacher who codes,” although today much of her teaching happens beyond the traditional classroom.

Kelly is a co-host of the Teaching Python podcast, where she explores Python, computer science education, AI, and the wider knowledge people need to learn, build, and make sound decisions with technology.
